THE LISTENING POST
I don't have to show you only fine art photographs here. We can just have fun too. Besides, I often make photographs that I am fairly certain no one will want to actually buy.
Here we have a group of five tanagers of three different species. I have a great advantage in my life: I have a good camera, I have a wife that loves birds, and she takes me to places to see them. These birds perched on a tree in Trinidad and stayed put just long enough for me to get this shot.
According to Wikipedia, more than 240 species of tanagers exist, although three of my favorites, the scarlet, summer, and western, have recently been moved from the tanager family to the cardinal family, something that strikes me as akin to deciding Pluto is no longer a planet or that freight trains don't need cabooses.
